ABOUT US
Nantes International Church is part of the ministry of the Protestant Evangelical Church of Nantes Boissière.
Although this church services where held in French, the church served international student for many years. In 2019 the church decided to launch a bi-lingual service in the afternoon to serve international residents more efficiently. In 2022 this part of the life of the church of Nantes Boissière has became Nantes International Church.
MEET THE TEAM
WHAT WE BELIEVE
The following statement outlines the core beliefs that guide our life as a church, our worship, and our mission in the world. These convictions unite us as a community of believers and reflect the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
GOD
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, existing from all eternity in three persons of the same essence: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus came to earth to make the Father known to mankind, to take upon Himself their offenses and sins, suffering as the sacrificial victim and dying in their place on the cross. He physically rose again on the third day. Now, He is the only mediator between God and mankind, offering them forgiveness and eternal life freely through faith in Him.
THE BIBLE AND HUMANITY
We believe in its entirety (the canonical writings of the Old and New Testaments). It is the Word of God, written by various authors inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme authority in matters of truth, faith, and life.
We believe that every person was created in the image of God to live in harmony with Him, but this relationship was broken by unbelief and disobedience. As a result, no one can restore a true relationship with God through their own efforts.
SALVATION & CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe that God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as payment for their sin against Him. In doing so, they are restored to a relationship with God as it was in the beginning.
We believe that Christians should live with the desire to follow and serve God in their thoughts, choices, and actions. Guided by the Bible and the Holy Spirit, all believers are to grow in faith, in their relationship with God, and become ever more like Christ. Like Him, it is through loving others and giving of themselves in service that they discover freedom, peace, and the true meaning of life.
BAPTISM
We believe that baptism is a public act of testimony to the inner change brought about by repentance and the acceptance of the forgiveness of sin that God offers to all. It is an act of obedience to God, celebrated in community. It is therefore a believer’s baptism.
Note: We do not practice infant baptism, but we encourage families to pray for their child during a special celebration.
CHURCH
We believe that the Church is the image of the body of Christ, with Christ Himself as the head. The members of the Church are all those who have placed their faith in the salvation offered by Christ. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known throughout the world.
